Submission Guidelines

The CAMHS Research Digest (CRD) is an ongoing commentary on the latest child and adolescent mental health research. It welcomes reviews of peer-reviewed research from child and adolescent mental health specialists around the world.

The primary target audience for the CRD is other child and adolescent mental health (CAMHS) specialists. The purpose of the CRD is to give these specialists a) a sense of some the recent research being published in the area, and b) the opportunity to review a favourite/interesting article and share this with the wider CAMH community.

The following guidelines were written to give those thinking about submitting an article review some clear boundaries about what is/ is not appropriate.

Relevant Professionals

If you are a health professional (nursing, psychiatry, psychology, social work) working in a child and adolescent mental health setting (e.g., CAMHS) and interested in immersing yourself in a bit of research, then you are just the person to write an article review!

Expressions of Interest/ Submitting an Article

If you are interested in writing a review on a peer-reviewed CAMH article, but not exactly sure where to start, please contact me at gareth.furber@gmail.com and I can give you some starting points. Also if you are interested in writing for the CAMHS Research Digest on a more regular basis, contact me on the email above.

If you are submitting a review article that you have already written, check first that it meets the “Review Guidelines” below, and also make sure that you have included the DOI number of the article (often found on the article itself or the literature database from which you got the article), as well as a very brief outline of who you are (profession, place of work, type of work, interests etc). Keep in mind that while I will try to maintain the complete integrity of your review, some editing is likely. I will be in contact with you before the article is posted.
